Dr Moore is a somewhat famous researcher in the US that has been observing non-verbal “mating signals” - flirting, and “come-ons” for the last twenty years or so.

She has identified a whole range of non-verbal signals that females use to attract male attention. According to Dr Moore, females typically initiate approaches. The “hair flick”, the
“neck display’, and the head tilt, for example, all indicate interest in a guy. (These are what the PUA calls AIs or Approach Indicators)




But remember that the PUA aims to usurp the female selector
process. They want to reduce our ability to select so that they can
(usually) get sex, more often and with more women. So they
(naturally) ask the question:

How can I get a female to display interest? (or AIs)

How to get AI’s is another subject widely discussed in the PUA
community.

The pAI mAI method relies heavily on non-verbal signals to get a
female to signal Approach interest (AI). Once she has, the Pick-Up Artist (PUA) can approach her and proceed with the seduction. A PUA that is adept at pAI mAI can have a female quite excited before he even talks to her.

the PUA knows he has to pass through a lot of filters before she
will have sex with him. Using that principal, the PUA can destroy
any attraction she might feel for some other (competing) guy. He
does this by prematurely revealing any interest she or he may
have toward each other.
PUA: “Hey, fuck this guy, he’s a great guy. Look at his muscles.
(PUA squeezes the other guy’s muscles)

By verbalizing the possibility of sex before the female is ready, he
interrupts her “state” of interest and likely kills it stone dead.
According to PUAs, females are totally “state-based”. So they aim
to destroy the basis of her state (toward any other guy) and so
destroy any attraction she may have had.

Most guys understand how this works. One of the biggest
challenges any guy faces is being able to deal with this kind of
play by another guy. Even when guys have no chance at
attracting a female they may run this kind of “destroyer” play.



6. Establishing Rapport- At some point the PUA will usually have
to have rapport. The trick is to get the girl to seek rapport with
him. This will happen when she feels trust and comfort. So part of
the PUA routine is deliberately aimed at establishing comfort and
trust.


One way to do this is to establish value or status. Once a guy
establishes value or status, a gal will usually seek rapport with
him. A PUA knows this is happening when his target female begins to seek information about him.
